RABBI DOVID GLEIZER

About Rabbi Gleizer

Rabbi Dovid Gleizer grew up in Brookline, MA. After high school, he learned at Yeshivat Lev HaTorah in Ramat Beit Shemesh and then continued his studies at Yeshiva University, where he earned a degree in Psychology and learned in the Katz Kollel under the leadership of Rabbi Hershel Schachter. During his subsequent rabbinic studies at YU, Rabbi Gleizer moved with his young family to Jerusalem to learn at Yeshivas Mir, where he learned extensively under Rav Meir Wahrsager for six years and served as a sho’el umeishiv for bachurim during night seder.

In August 2023, the Gleizers moved to Portland, Oregon, when Rabbi Gleizer assumed the position of Rosh Beis Medrash of the Portland Kollel. In this role, he founded and leads a full-time learning chabura, runs a community night seder program, and helps facilitate Torah learning opportunities throughout Portland. In August 2025, he was appointed Interim Rabbi of Congregation Kesser Israel.

Rabbi Gleizer is driven by a deep love of Torah, sincere care for every person, and a desire to help each individual strengthen their connection to Hashem through Torah learning. With his energy, warmth, and genuine interest in others, he brings chizuk and direction to those around him. He gives a daily Daf Yomi class, a weekly Parsha shiur, an in-depth Sunday morning Chumash class, a weekly Semichas Chaver lunch-and-learn, and a “Torah from the Mir” series, among other initiatives.

Rivka Malka Gleizer, originally from Silver Spring, MD, studied at Michlalah and Touro College and holds a Master’s degree in Social Work. She considers it a zechus to teach Chumash and serve as a mechaneches and school guidance counselor in Portland. She cares deeply about the well-being of others, mentors women, and can usually be found caring for the Gleizer children who amuse her with their boundless energy.

Together, Rabbi Gleizer and Rivka Malka are passionate about personal growth, chinuch, shalom bayis, and developing a genuine and balanced relationship with Hashem through Torah.
