What is Aggadah?
Aggadah literally means "stories." In the context of the Talmud and Midrash, it refers to the parts that focus on narratives rather than laws. Unlike Halakhah, which deals with Jewish law, Aggadah includes stories, ethical teachings, reflections on life, and moral lessons. These passages often explore deeper meanings, offer spiritual insights, and address moral questions, providing a storytelling approach to understanding Jewish tradition. Aggadah is known for its symbolic and sometimes mystical nature, making it an important part of Jewish religious and cultural literature.
